October 11

Deacon Sunday, celebrated on the second Sunday of October, is a special opportunity to honor and thank the deacons who serve our Church with faith, generosity, and compassion. Through their ministry, deacons proclaim the Gospel, assist at the altar, baptize, witness marriages, minister to the sick, and serve those in need.

On this day, we pray for our deacons, their families, and for an increase in vocations to the diaconate. May God strengthen them in their calling and inspire others to respond generously to His invitation to serve the Church.

Celebrate Deacon Sunday by thanking your deacon for his ministry, offering a prayer or spiritual bouquet, sending a card of appreciation, or participating in a parish celebration in his honor. Let us give thanks for these ordained ministers who reflect Christ the Servant in our communities.
