Celebrate Priesthood Sunday
Next Sunday, September 27, we will celebrate Priesthood Sunday in our Catholic parishes throughout the United States. It is a time simply set aside to say thank you to our priests for leading and accompanying us in our spiritual lives, and for providing and celebrating the Sacraments which help allow us to keep our life centered in Christ.
There are many ways that individual, families and parishes can reach out to their priests next weekend to say thank you for all you do, for being that spiritual father to us.
Some ways to say thank you to your priests: A photo on the cover of the parish bulletin with the priest biography and “Thank You,” a drive-by parade (in these COVID times), having a Mass, offering a Holy Hour, a Rosary, a Divine Mercy Chaplet for your parish priest(s), or sending a thank you card are beautiful ways to celebrate Priesthood Sunday.
The Office of Vocations has put together a nine-day Novena for your parish priest(s) in the Diocese of Rapid City which begins today, Friday, September 18 and ends next Sunday, Priesthood Sunday, September 27. Join us in offering this nine-day Novena for your parish priest(s).
God bless and let us celebrate Priesthood Sunday together.
